Is there a cost or limit to the number of bags a shopper can drop?

Mall property management decides whether to charge for the service and sets the bag limit. Guests can purchase additional passes if they reach the daily limit.some text

  • For example, a site might charge £15 for up to 10 bags.

There are no additional fees for store brands to offer the Hands-free Shopping service.

Shoppers can pay directly through the app using debit or credit cards (Visa and MasterCard).

Additionally, you can offer a complimentary service to delight your shoppers with prepaid promotional codes.

Are there any items that are restricted?

Most product purchases can leverage the Hands-free technology, except for luxury jewellery, watches, or items over £10,000, which are excluded from this service. Specific terms and conditions apply, including additional fees for delivery services based on weight or size.

Technology

How does the Hands-free Shopping process work?

Shoppers complete purchases as usual and book a drop session via Dropit's Web App—no downloads needed.

After completing quick prompts on their mobile device, shoppers leave their bags at the register and continue shopping.

When ready to leave, bags are delivered to their address or collected at an on-site designated point.

Guest Services securely collect and store bags until they're retrieved by the shopper or courier.

Everything is managed securely through Dropit's easy-to-use platform.

Are there any integration requirements or downloads for stores or malls to use Hands-free Shopping?

No integration is needed for the site or store brands, and no downloads are required from shoppers. Dropit is fully accessible through any web browser connected to the internet. 

How does Dropit's Hands-free Shopping Technology comply with data protection regulations?

The service is fully GDPR compliant, ensuring the protection of customer data. Stores do not handle any customer information since the process is completed on the shopper’s mobile device.

Can shoppers track their dropped bags?

Yes, shoppers can track their bags through Dropit's Web App, ensuring they always know their bags' location.

Operations

How do store brands let someone know there is a bag to be collected from a shopper?

The Dropit system notifies the Guest Services team when a drop is ready to be collected and where it is located. Store assistants only need to put a security seal on the bags and then simply wait for them to be collected by Guest Services. Stores do not need to use or handle any technology or system, it is done automatically when a shopper books a drop. 

What is a security seal and do we need to provide to our tenants?

Security seal is a tamper proof barcoded sticker used to secure guests purchases. It is added on the shopping bag  during the drop process and ensures guest items are secure and tracked throughout the day.

Security seals are provided by Dropit and tenants can request them from the Guest Services team member.

What delivery options are available with Hands-free Shopping?

Collection On-Site: Shoppers can collect their bags on-site when they finish shopping (generally, collection is at or near the Guest Services unit). 

Delivery: At participating sites, guests also have the option to have their bags delivered to their home or hotel. Delivery insurance is included (up to £10,000), and Dropit is integrated with the top parcel and courier providers across EMEA. The Mall Property would need a local commercial courier account (new or existing) and be the shipper and exporter of record if international shipping is required.

What couriers do you work with?

Dropit is integrated with the top parcel and courier providers across EMEA.

Dropit can add additional couriers in up to 8 weeks with minimal integration set up fees.

What kind of customer service is available for Hands-free Shopping users?

Customer service with live chat is available during business hours to assist shoppers with any questions or issues.

Support and Training

How secure is the Hands-free Shopping service?

The Dropit platform includes a drop-to-delivery tracking system and up to £10,000 insurance (delivery only). Every shopper must also take a picture of their receipt to complete the drop and protect all items.

What languages does the Dropit Web App come in?

Dropit currently is offered in English, Dutch, German, French, Chinese and Italian. Dropit can support more languages upon request.
